The RHAA National Finals are held each year in conjunction with the Western Heritage Classic in Abilene, Texas on the second weekend of May. Riders qualify for the National Finals by placing well at an RHAA-approved show during the year. Classes are divided into the Wrangler Class, Cowboy Class, Ranch Hand Class, Junior Class, and Senior Class. Each qualifier in each of the classes is eligible to compete in a two-round Semi Finals held on Thursday and Friday, with the exception of the Wrangler class. The Top Five from each class in the Semi Finals advance to the Finals held on Saturday. The Wrangler class qualifiers compete Thursday morning with the top five scoring horses/riders competing Thursday afternoon following the Senior class go round for the Championship.
You will see some of the best ranch horses in the business at our National Finals. Many of our competitors are “making a name” for themselves as great horsemen and horse trainers.
If you plan on attending the RHAA National Finals, we encourage you to make hotel reservations EARLY, as rooms can be hard to find in Abilene close to the event.
