Brown Ranch Ranch Horse Competition\nDate: March 11\, 2024 | This event is part of RAB’s three-day event\, A Rancher’s Rendezvous  \nStart Time: 7:30 a.m. \nLocation: RA Brown Ranch\, Throckmorton\, Texas. **As you pull in\, please park in the grassy area on the east side of the main road in an orderly manner. With so many horses and trailers\, it will be helpful for your fellow competitors. \nJudge: Garrett Cooper (Youth and BDBD) and Bozo Rogers (Wrangler\, Cowboy\, Ranch Hand\, Junior\, Senior) \n  \nEntering and Scratching\nBooks open February 5. Close March 5 (or until full at 100 entries. Note: The BDBD and Novice BDBD will be capped at 10 entries each). \nParticipants will be allowed to scratch their entry for a full refund up until Friday\, March 8. We will also be awarding our BDBD and Youth Class prizes at this time.\n\nCowboy: 1:30 pm\nRanch Hand: 3:15 pm\nJunior: 4:45 pm\nSenior: 6:30 pm\n\nTUESDAY\n\nSaddle Shoot-out: 1:00 pm. The top two competitors from Wrangler\, Cowboy\, Ranch Hand\, Junior and Senior who showed Monday will be invited. There will be a calcutta of these ten held during lunch on Tuesday. Calcutta will pay 1st and 2nd with the remainder of the proceeds going to benefit the War Horses for Veterans or the WRCA Foundation.\nAwards\n\nClass winners will get Preston Williams buckles\nHigh cow scores of each class win Moore Maker fence pliers\nhigh reining scores of each class receive Mitchell Saddlery split reins\nHigh youth score of the day wins a saddle\nReserve overall shoot out champ wins a Capital Hatters Custom Hat\nThe top two riders in the five main classes will be invited the next day\, March 12 at 1:00 p.m. for a saddle run-off for a Jeff Smith Ranch Cutter saddle! Pattern for the run-off TBD.\n\nWeather\nInclement Weather? If we happen to get rained out\, we will postpone the show for a later date. We will put the word out on the R.A. Brown Ranch and the RHAA facebook pages so please check there before your trip. \n  \nStalls\nThere are two stall options: \n\nTwisted Mesquite Performance Horses\n$35 a night per horse\, price includes 2 (40 lbs) pelleted shavings. We have more shavings\, bluebonnet omega force\, and cubed alfalfa available at cost if needed. Please bring your own water buckets. You will have access to indoor arena\, outdoor roping arena\, and outdoor running pens for riding. As well as a covered (non-heated) wash bay.
